1 Yoga Pose Anyone Can do That Instantly Restores Energy!

In savasana, or corpse pose, one lies down on their back and practices entering a complete full-body relaxed state. Savasana is usually practiced at the end of a yoga practice and is a time for the yogi to assimilate the full benefits of their yoga practice.

To enter Savasana:
1. Lie on your back, let the arms and legs drop open, with the arms resting by but not touching the sides of your body, with the palms up and open. Make sure you are warm and comfortable.
2. Close your eyes, and take slow deep breaths through the nose. Allow your whole body to become soft and heavy, letting it relax into the floor.
3. Scan the body from the toes to the fingers to the crown of the head, looking for tension, tightness, and contracted muscles. Consciously release and relax any areas of tightness or tension.
4. Stay in Savasana for 5 to 15 minutes, trying to maintain an even breathing pattern throughout this time, attempting to extend your exhaling breath longer and longer.
5. To release: slowly deepen the breath, wiggle the fingers and toes, and slowly sit up in place.

This simple-sounding pose is more difficult than you may realize. The body can cause distractions that may make it challenging. Your body might feel cold, itchy, or uncomfortable. By practicing this pose consistently, it is possible to learn to relax the body to a higher degree, to ignore bodily distractions, and enter a meditative state more easily.

Savasana is important for rejuvenating the body, mind, and spirit while reducing stress and tension. Laying in this pose daily will assist blood circulation and respiration, reduce inflammation, and reduce ruminative thought patterns, promoting an acceptance based attitude and lifestyle.
