How To Influence Your Child To Follow Their Dreams

In honor of National Bring Your Kids to Work Day, we are reminded that one of the most valuable resources human beings have are our children. We can contribute towards the common good of humanity through how we love and nurture our children. Children inspire hope, new beginnings, and transformation, and hold the key to manifesting generational shifts in consciousness. One need only look at the differences between the oldest generations alive today and the youngest to see the difference in communication, interpersonal, and cognitive skills that exists between them. Children hold the answer to progress and advancement as they are capable of seeing the world in radical new ways, jumping off of the established ideas created by their forbears. Children are so important, below are two methods of inspiring your children to inner peace so that they live go on to live an inspired life and effectively move the world forward towards more love & peace.

  1. Freedom of Self-Expression

The developmental process of a child is an experiment of interacting with the world and discovering how the world reacts. Not understanding social norms or protocol, a young child will experiment with tools and methods of expression the child has observed its parents employ, discovering for themselves the efficacy of various tactics for success and accomplishment. Often, it is social pressure which teaches children that there are only a limited number of appropriate ways to act in a given situation. For instance, some children are told to sit quietly and be obedient, told what clothes are okay to wear, or what toys are okay to play with. When a child is told how to behave, it will integrate that information as being true. While this helps parents achieve well behaved children, it limits the number of ways that children can utilize their imagination and individuality to express themselves. Such a limit creates an energetic blockage which hinders self-growth. Limiting individuality also creates unhealthy inner beliefs that cause future suffering.  For this reason, it is recommended that you avoid imposing any limits on your child’s ability to self express. Give them some freedom to decide what clothes they want to wear, how they want to behave, and what interests they want to pursue. This will help your child grow in a happy way.

  1. Freedom of Decision Making

While it is obvious that children do not have the experience or knowledge to make important decisions for themselves (they must rely on their parent to feed and support them) it is also important to recognize a child’s autonomy. While the safety and comfort of your child is important to guarantee, beyond those concerns it is healthy to allow your child some freedom to explore and make decisions for themselves. If every decision is made for a child then they will become reliant and possibly lazy in the future. An important way of avoiding this and inspiring passion is to allow the child to self-distractedly decide for themselves what they would like to do. For instance, when playing a game with a child, you can let the child decide what game they would like to play, or when playing with a toy, the child may be allowed to decide what to they’d like to play with. Allowing your child to make simple decisions for themselves will help them feel involved, confident, and driven to accomplish different things as they will feel personally empowered to make decisions for themselves. A simple way of doing this is by presenting your child with choices and letting them pick from the choices, i.e., when you want to exercise with your child you can let them decide if they’d like to go for a walk in the woods or go play in the park.

We hope these tips assist you in helping your child to develop in a more peaceful and complete way. Don’t forget to employ these tips during this year’s upcoming Bring Your Kids to Work Day taking place April 28th! In addition, we wanted to take a moment to highlight a few of this week’s trending products which perfectly compliment our intention of bringing peace to our children.

  1. Need a way to soothe your child? Try playing a C note Crystal Singing Bowl. This is the root chakra bowl which provides a sense of support and grounding, allowing one to feel safe and comfortable, an especially important feeling for a child to have.
