DOBANI Chao Gong (8″, 10,” 12″)

The Chao Gong is a beautifully elegant style of gong that produces a full and sustained wash of musical overtones. It provides a gentle and soothing tone for sound baths, sound journeys, and one-on-one sound therapy sessions. This type of gong dates all the way back to the Chinese Han Dynasty where it was used as a ritual part of spiritual ceremonies and other important celebrations.

The Gong mallet is comprised from solid mulberry and dense foam wrapped by nylon, and the gong is made of a bronze alloy which is roughly 80% copper and 20% tin. Center spot and outside rim retain the authentic black copper oxide that forms when the gong is made. The rest of the gong is beautifully polished.
